Conservation Voters of SC endorses Rep. Mike Burns for re-election

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The board of directors of Conservation Voters of South Carolina recently announced the endorsement of Rep. Mike Burns for re-election to House District 17.

The group – a nonpartisan, nonprofit statewide organization whose mission is to make conservation and environmental issues a top priority among South Carolina's elected leaders, political candidates, and voters – said Rep. Burns "has established himself as a legislator who will support conservation and will look for innovative energy solutions."

“In his first year in the House, Rep. Burns cast votes in support of the Conservation Bank as well as E-Waste. He has emerged as a reasonable voice for conservation in the Upstate and deserves a second term,” said Ann Timberlake, executive director of CVSC.

“Considering how important natural resources are in my district, the endorsement from Conservation Voters of South Carolina means a great deal," Burns said. "I am proud to accept CVSCs support and look forward to a growing relationship with them."

The primary will be held on Tuesday, June 10, followed by the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
