Mary Emery, 82 - Travelers Rest

Mary Rachel Johnson Emery, 82, of Travelers Rest, went to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Greenville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Mattie Cox Johnson. She was a former employee at the Galey Mill and was of the Southern Baptist Faith.

Surviving are three daughters: Elizabeth Redding, Judy Sudduth (Farrell) and M.J. Bayne (Jeff); three sons: Edward “Junior” Poole (Senniah), John Thomas “Tommy” Poole and Billy Emery; a brother: Pete Johnson; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband: Raymond William Emery; sister: Margaret Suttles; and two brothers: Jack Johnson and Edward Johnson.

A family graveside service will be held Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at Coleman Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary.

The family will be at the home of: Jeff and M.J. Bayne.
