Mary Ellen Thacker Kelley, 80

Mary Ellen Thacker Kelley died peacefully at the home of her son, Jeff Kelley, in Walhalla, S.C., on Nov. 26, 2019. She is predeceased by her late husband of 48 years, John E. Kelley.

Mary was the daughter of the late Jack and Emmie Thacker, of Travelers Rest, S.C. She was a Transportation Supervisor for the Greenville County School District for more than 30 years.

She is survived by three sons: Joseph Torchio, of Greenville, S.C.; John Kelley (Mary), of Austin, Texas; and Jeff Kelley (Stephanie), of Walhalla, S.C.; a brother, Jack Thacker Jr., of Taylors; four sisters: Jonell Hart, of Travelers Rest; Toma Patterson, of Kernersville, N.C.; Nancy Duncan (Raymond), of Travelers Rest; and Sammie Tate (Robert), of Travelers Rest; four grandsons; and three granddaughters.

Mary was also predeceased by a sister, Bonta Pressley, and a brother, Jerry Thacker.

Blue Ridge Funeral Home was in charge of the cremation and services were private.
