Beta Club attends state convention

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. Over this past weekend, the Travelers Rest High School Beta Club competed in the South Carolina Beta Club State Convention, held in Myrtle Beach.

The following students placed in the top 3 in their competition:

• Michael Diaz - 1st Place in Black & White Photography (Division 1)
• Brianna Hawkins - 1st Place in Color Photography (Division 1)
• Anna Hughes - 2nd Place in Language Arts Testing (10th Grade)
• Jill Davis, Michael Diaz, Aubrey Holloway, Allison Parish, Addison Powers, Bethany Sizemore, and Abigail Woodard - 2nd Place in Character Performance
• Emma Groce - 3rd Place in On-Site Painting (Division 2)
• Bethany Sizemore - 3rd Place in Jewelry (Division 2)
• Olivia Bruce, Emmy Johnston, Alanna Manley, Alexis White - 3rd Place in Engineering

The club was also recognized with the Convention Growth Award by increasing its attendance at the convention by 10 percent.
