Jane Batson, 79 - Travelers Rest

Jane Elizabeth Hindman Batson, 79, of Travelers Rest, SC, wife of Billy Claude Batson, passed into the Arms of Our Savior Lord Jesus Christ on Friday April 24th, 2020.

Jane was a daughter of the late Raymond and Etta Jones Hindman. She worked for the South Carolina Unemployment Office until her retirement and was a member of Clearview Baptist Church in Travelers Rest, SC.

Surviving are her three daughters and son-in-laws: Donna Batson Burns (Steve), Kathy Batson Wilson (David), and Billie Michelle Batson Shealy (Steve); four sisters: Betty Hindman Rice (Bud), Frances Hindman Bradley, Glenda Hindman Hendrix, and Fronda Hindman Bailey (Robert); brother: Harold Hindman; sister-in-law: Judy Batson Ray (Danny); brother-in-law: David Turner; grandchildren: Nicki Burns Major, Andrew Burns, Elizabeth Burns Lanzl (Drew), Matthew Wilson (Sabrina), Jonathan Wilson (Amy), Nancy Shealy, and Ryan Taylor; Four great-grandchildren: Caitlyn Burns, Ellie Major, Elijah Wilson, and Eloise Lanzl; nieces: Sandra Rice Lance, Diane Rice Page (Sid), Judy Bryant Ponder (Rick), Sharon Bradley Hinrichs (Bob), Lisa Hendrix Wilson (George), Tammie Hoffman Wilson (Dale), Wanda Hindman Casad (Lee), Karen Turner Sammons (Leon) and Tracy Ray; nephews: Jerry Davis (Shera), Ronnie Davis, Wayne Hindman (Linda), Steve Hindman (Evelyn), Tony Hoffman (Wendy), Tim Hendrix, and Eric Hendrix (Teresa).

She was pre-deceased by one brother: Raymond Hindman Jr.; two sisters: Glady Earline Hindman Davis Slaybaugh and Margaret Hindman Bryant; five brother-in-laws: William Bradley, Amos Bryant, Carl Davis, Roy Hendrix, and Jerome Rice; a sister-in-law: Sandra Batson Turner; a niece: Gale Rice Posey; and two nephews: Bill Bradley and Dub Lance.

The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice Care for their help and compassion for the last two weeks, Robbie RN for being there for us last weekend and Denise RN and Diane for helping and being there this week.

There will be a private service for the immediate family in The Howze Mortuary Chapel. The family would like to invite the public to be with them in spirit via viewing through live-stream on The Howze Mortuary Page at www.facebook.com/thehowzemortuary at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 28th 2020. Live-stream will begin at 1:55 p.m.

Friends and family are invited to sign the register book at The Howze Mortuary on Monday, April 27th 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
