Travelers Rest officials tour new townhome development

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — City officials recently toured the townhome development under construction along Main Street and the Swamp Rabbit Trail in Travelers Rest. (See slideshow below.)

The new subdivision, Trailview Townhomes, is scheduled for completion in March of 2021 and will feature 17 townhomes available for lease.

The 1.24-acre property is located on North Main Street between Tolar Road and Cox Street, across the street from Travelers Rest High School.

At the recent "Dusty Boots Tour" with city leaders, Will McCauley, president of Creative Builders Inc. (the project's general contractor) and Walt Brashier, III, said they were excited to bring such a unique, upscale project to Travelers Rest, the area in which they’ve grown up.

"This project creates a vibrant, walkable, bikeable community," McCauley said. "It adds to the enthusiasm that the Swamp Rabbit Trail promotes, and there is not a product like it in Travelers Rest.”

The two- and three-bedroom floorplans, many with expansive front porches and vaulted ceilings, are around 1600 to 2000 square feet and will feature high end finishes, fixtures and appliances.

"Last year we finalized our Downtown Master Plans after gathering community input along with recommendations from our city staff to create a thorough road map for growth in the heart of our city," said Travelers Rest Mayor Brandy Amidon. "This townhome development checks all the boxes we asked for as people wanted to live right off the trail within our community."

"We are excited to see this first-quality development come to completion and expand options for people to live, shop and play in downtown Travelers Rest,” Amidon said.

Trailview Townhomes is located at 508 N. Main St. in Travelers Rest.
