Travelers Rest cancels Christmas parade

Travelers Rest cancels Christmas parade

UPDATED DEC. 6, 2012:

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – Organizers last week announced that the Travelers Rest Christmas parade has been cancelled for 2020.

Originally scheduled for Sat., Dec. 12, organizers cited the rising level of COVID as the reason for the cancellation.

"As the Coronavirus case levels continue to rise, the parade committee has been in close communication with city officials and, at the recommendation of our mayor and city administrator, determined that it is prudent to cancel this year's parade," organizers said.

Editor's Note: The annual parade typically serves as a fundraiser for two local nonprofits: North Greenville Crisis Ministry and Foothills Family Resources. Direct donations can be made to help the organizations offset any financial losses they may incur due to the parade cancellation.
