Fire crews battle blaze on Glassy Mountain

LANDRUM, S.C. — Multiple crews battled a fire that broke out on Glassy Mountain Thursday night.
Officials said the call initially came in as a four-acre fire near Moonshine Falls Trail at around 5 p.m.

Glassy Mountain, Tigerville and Lake Cunningham fire departments responded to the call. The United States Forest Service was also called in to assist, providing a bulldozer to aid firefighter efforts.
Officials said the fire was 100 percent contained early Friday.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, officials said.
