Local agent recognized for volunteerism efforts

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – For his commitment to volunteerism, local Allstate agency owner Quincy Tarrance received the Allstate Agency Hands in the Community Award, it was announced Wednesday.

The Allstate Foundation awards $2 million every year to nonprofit organizations across the country in honor of agency owners who give back to their communities. To be eligible for nomination, an agency owners must volunteer at, mentor with or lead a nonprofit of their choice.

In recognition of his community service efforts, The Allstate Foundation awarded a $1,000 grant to the YMCA of Travelers Rest, where Tarrance serves as a board member.

Now in its 62nd year, The Allstate Foundation has given more than $300 million in financial contributions to communities around the country and in 2013, gave $54,000 in S.C. as part of the Allstate Agency Hands in the Community Program, according to company officials.

“The Allstate Agency Hands in the Community Award celebrates the spirit of service and commitment to communities where we live, work and do business.” said Bob Holden, field senior vice president for Allstate’s Southeast region.
