Virginia Jones, 86 - Travelers Rest

Virginia Jones, 86, of Travelers Rest, SC, widow of the late Willie Frank Neely and the late Tommy Jones, passed away, Sunday, July 18, 2021.

Born in Travelers Rest, she was the daughter of the late John Collier and Maggie Gilreath Brooks. Mrs. Jones retired from house keeping for Herman and Jane Hipp family at Green Valley and was a member of Mountain Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons: Larry Neely and Richard B. Neely (Janice); two daughters: Sandra Peters and Veronica Neely Baker (Michael); one sister: Rhoda B. Gibson; one brother: Grant Brooks (Mallie); three grandchildren: Tonya Anderson, Ronique Peters, and Mikhale Baker; eight great-grandchildren: Azanijah, Tiquan, Kweli, Alyse, Zion, Jaquel, Marcus, and Ramaijah; three sisters-in-law: Evelyn Jones, Teresa Jones, and Linda Brooks.

Along with her parents, first and second husband, she was predeceased by one daughter-in-law: Cynthia P. Neely; and two sons: Perry Neely and Randy Neely.

The family will have a walk through viewing Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, in The Howze Mortuary Chapel. The service will be Live-Streamed at www.facebook.com/the howzemortuary, beginning at 1:50 p.m. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.

The family will be at the home, 40 Mush Creek Hill, Travelers Rest, SC 29690.
