Devildogs open high school football season Friday at home

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – The Travelers Rest Devildogs kick off the 2021 high school football season at home against the Riverside Warriors on Friday night.

Anticipation of the opening game is high among fans as the Devildogs look to build on last Friday night's dominating win over Wade Hampton High School at the J.L. Mann Jamboree with a final score of 55 to 14.

Last year the Devildogs finished second in the region with a 3-2 record, which gave them their first run of three consecutive winning seasons since 1969. The previous two years were 7-4 and 8-3.

Kickoff for the home opener, which is also Alumni Night, is set for 7:30 p.m. at Chico Bolin Stadium. Cheerleading, football, and band alumni will be recognized at halftime. Alumni Night tailgating begins at 5:30 p.m. in the high school commons area.

Next week, the Devildogs are at home again playing Johns Creek Gladiators.
