Melvin “Mel” Robertson, 86 - Greenville

Melvin “Mel” Kirby Robertson, 86, of Greenville, husband of the late Christine Reed Robertson, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at McCall Hospice House.

Born in Travelers Rest, SC, he was the son of the late Ben and Nell Robertson. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Portland Oregon as an Airplane Mechanic. He owned Playtime Amusement and was a faithful Deacon and member of Paris Mountain Baptist Church of Half Mile Lake.

He is survived by his four daughters: Carole Banton (M.F. Bush) of Greenville, Lisa Skelton (Tommy Sutherland) of Welford, Shelley Brewer (Michael) of Clemson, and Kelley Craig (Michael Burrell) of Taylors; his son: John H. Dempsey (Sandy West Dempsey) of Greer; 13 grandchildren; and many loving great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, September 16, 2021, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary.

Funeral service will be held Friday morning, September 17, at 11:00 a.m.at Paris Mountain Baptist Church of Half Mile Lake. Burial will follow the service in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
