Filing period to fill vacated Travelers Rest council seat opens Nov. 12

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — The filing period to run in the upcoming Travelers Rest election to fill the council seat of vacated member Sara Gilstrap will open at noon on Fri., Nov. 12 and close at noon on Mon., Nov. 22.

Gilstrap recently moved outside of city limits, prompting the special election.

Any prospective candidate must be a resident of the city of Travelers Rest and a registered voter. A filing fee of $180 must accompany the Statement of Intention of Candidacy (Non Partisan).

The election to fill the seat will be held on Jan. 25, 2022.
