Updated: Driver dies following wrong-way, head-on crash
Update (06/24/14):
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – One of the drivers involved in a head-on crash Sunday morning has died as a result of the collision, according to Greenville County Coroner B. Parks Evans.
Shortly after arriving at the scene of the wreck, Travelers Rest police pulled the man out of his vehicle as a fire spread toward the driver's compartment. (Video here.)
Evans said the man, who has not been identified, died on Monday at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
The cause of death is listed as blunt force trauma to the head.

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – Travelers Rest Police Chief Lance Crowe confirmed that one of the vehicles involved in a head-on crash Sunday morning was traveling into town in the wrong direction on S. Main Street near the Highway 25/276 split.
Travelers Rest police, firefighters from Travelers Rest and Duncan Chapel fire departments and EMS personnel responded to the two-vehicle crash around 5 a.m.
Southbound lanes were blocked just below the History Museum of Travelers Rest as responders worked to extinguish a fire and extricate two people.
One person was airlifted from the scene, although it is not clear at this time which vehicle the person was in.
There is no word on the extent of injuries or if any charges will be filed.
The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating.
