Recent Blue Ridge HS grad killed in fiery wreck
GREER, S.C. – An 18-year-old Blue Ridge High School graduate was killed and two other teens were injured in a single-vehicle wreck early Friday morning in northern Greenville County.
Greenville County Coroner B. Parks Evans said Ethan River Hawkins was the driver of a 2003 Ford F-250 that left the roadway, rolling over multiple times and catching fire.
The wreck happened around 2 a.m. Friday in the 3800 block of Jug Factory Road in Greer.
Hawkins, who was trapped inside the overturned truck, died at the scene, Evans said.
According to Greenville County Schools' officials, Hawkins was one of 11 recent graduates that never missed a day of school throughout his entire school career.
The two other teens – ages 18 and 19 – were transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
