Margaret Wilson Turner, 93 - Travelers Rest

Margaret Wilson Turner, 93, formerly of Travelers Rest, died Thursday, June 26, 2014. She was the widow of Holton Gilreath Turner and the daughter of the late C.D. and Kathryn McLean Wilson of Blythewood, SC. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, being predeceased by her sisters, Catherine Pooser and Fannie Louise DuBose and brothers, Charlie, Elton, Roger, Howard and Harry Wilson.

Born in Richland County, SC, Mrs. Turner was a graduate of Winthrop and Furman Universities and retired from the School District of Greenville County. She was a member of Jackson Grove United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth Anne and John Chewning and Kathy and Marty Shapiro; granddaughter, Miriam C. Hood and husband Durwood; grandson, Austin Sanders; step-grandsons, Jeffrey Shapiro and Matthew Shapiro; great-granddaughter, Audrey Hood and great-grandson, Carson Hood along with many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends in the sanctuary of Jackson Grove United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 2 p.m. with a service to follow at 3 p.m.
