Postal worker saves mail from burning vehicle
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – A postal worker managed to save all of the mail from her burning delivery vehicle on Thursday morning.
Tigerville firefighters responded to a vehicle fire in the 3100 block of Hwy. 25 around 10:30 a.m.
When they arrived on scene, a Jeep used to deliver mail was engulfed in flames, according to Tigerville Fire Chief Russell Ledford.
The vehicle appeared to be a total loss, but the driver was able to remove all of the mail that was inside.
“The driver went above and beyond, emptying the Jeep while it was on fire,” Ledford said.
No injuries were reported.
