Saturday: Free car seat safety check, replacement offered at Travelers Rest event
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – Local Allstate agency owner Quincy Tarrance is partnering with Safe Kids Upstate to sponsor a community car seat safety check on Sat., July 26 from 10 a.m. to noon at his 6725 State Park Rd. office.
Certified inspectors will be on-hand to provide inspections at the event, which is free and open to the public. Car seats deemed unsafe will be replaced with new car seats provided by the Greenville Health System.
“According to statistics, road injuries are the leading cause of preventable death and injuries to children, but child safety seats, when used properly, can reduce the risk of death by as much as 71 percent,” Tarrance said.
Additionally, firefighters with the Travelers Rest Fire Department will be on hand to discuss fire safety and demonstrate their equipment, and a face painter will be painting children's faces for free.
