Travelers Rest brewery to host inaugural 'Septembrew Fest' Saturday

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – The Swamp Rabbit Brewery & Taproom on Main Street in Travelers Rest will host the inaugural South Carolina Upstate Septembrew Fest on Saturday, Sept. 20.

The event is dubbed a gathering of all the local craft breweries from the Upstate area, including Thomas Creek, Swamp Rabbit, R.J. Rockers, Quest, Blue Ridge, and 85.

In addition to fresh brews, local food trucks will be on site along with live music, games and prizes, according to the Facebook event page.

Swamp Rabbit Brewery, the only of its kind in Travelers Rest, was recently named one of 118 entrants in a national survey to find the top 50 breweries in America. It was one of 13 breweries in the Southeast/Mid-Atlantic region and the only in South Carolina to make it onto the final nomination list, which was compiled by TheDailyMeal.com. Voting is closed, and winners will be announced soon.

Earlier this month, the brewery won a gold medal win at the U.S. Open Beer Championship competition. The victory was soon followed by a second national win, this time a gold at the 2014 Tastings World Beer Championships.

The Septembrew Fest event will be held rain or shine. Tickets, which are $35, can be purchased online here.
