Single-vehicle wreck knocks out power along Tigerville Road

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – Power is out for area Duke Energy residents along Tigerville Road after a pickup truck crashed into a telephone pole Thursday afternoon.

The single-vehicle wreck happened around 1:50 p.m. in the 300 block, near the intersection of Nix Road. 

Witnesses said the truck was traveling toward Travelers Rest on Tigerville Road when it went off the right side of the roadway and up an embankment, overturning and crashing into a telephone pole on the opposite side of the road.

One person was extricated and transported to the hospital by ambulance. The extent of injuries is unknown.

Troopers with the S.C. Highway Patrol are investigating.
