SCDOT to replace northern Greenville County bridge

MARIETTA, S.C. – Beginning Monday, Aug. 25, Bates Bridge Road in northern Greenville County will be closed as S.C. Dept. of Transportation workers replace the bridge over the North Saluda River.

A 4-mile detour – utilizing US 276, SC 414 and Slater Road (S-23-247) – will be in place during construction, which is estimated to be complete on Oct. 31.

The bridge is approximately .8 mile east of Hwy. 414. Due to current load limits, fire department apparatus and similarly-weighted vehicles are unable to use the bridge, even in a case of emergency.
