Arson investigators to help determine cause of mobile home fire
TIGERVILLE, S.C. – Firefighters responded to a mobile home fire early Wednesday morning on Packs Mountain Road in northern Greenville County, and arson investigators have been called in to help determine how it started.
Tigerville Fire Dept. Chief Russell Ledford said the fire was fully involved when they arrived on the scene around 12:30 a.m.
According to Ledford, nobody was living at the home at the time of the fire and no utilities were connected to the residence, which was a total loss.
Ledford said Greenville County Sheriff's Office arson investigators have been called in to assist with determining the cause and origin of the fire, neither of which are known at this time.
Glassy Mountain firefighters provided assistance in battling the blaze. There were no reports of firefighter injuries.
This is the second residential fire in recent days that the Sheriff's Office has been requested to investigate in northern Greenville County. Deputies have confirmed they are investigating a house fire and suspected burglary that occurred on Sunday on River Road.
We will update this story when more information becomes available.
