Mac Arnold brings the blues to Trailblazer Park Saturday
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – In a highly-anticipated performance, Blues rocker Mac Arnold and his band, Plate Full 'O Blues, will take the stage at Travelers Rest's Trailblazer Park on Saturday, Sept. 20.
Arnold's music career reads like a “who’s who” of blues and R&B legends. His high school band, “J Floyd & The Shamrocks,” was often joined by James Brown on piano. In late 1966, at age 24, Mac joined the Muddy Waters Band, and the rest is history.
In addition to Arnold (bass, rhythm gas can guitar, slide gas can guitar, vocals), the band features Austin Brashier (guitar and vocals) and Max Hightower (keyboards, harmonica, guitar, bass, vocals).
Part of the inaugural Music in the Park series, the concert is free. Food vendors and the craft beer stand open at 6 p.m. Arnold and his band will take the stage at 7 p.m.
Trailblazer Park is located at 235 Wilhelm Winter St., accessible by Highways 25 and 276 as well as the GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail.
No pets, coolers or smoking are allowed at the Music in the Park events. Parking is free.
