Piedmont Boys to close inaugural Music in the Park series on Saturday
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – The inaugural Music in the Park concert series at Trailblazer Park will come to a close on Saturday, Sept. 27 with a performance by the Piedmont Boys, self-described players of "southern American blue collar music."
Formed in Greenville in 2007, the group – influenced by Hank, Cash, Waylon, Haggard, and Coe – mixes a blend of country music and gritty southern rock into a unique and distinctive sound of their own.
The band, which features Greg Payne on guitar and lead vocals, Chief Spires on bass, Stuart McConnell on lead guitar, Matt Parks on fiddle, and Colt Strickland on drums, has toured extensively, building a nationwide fan base in the process. And with three studio albums under their belts and another in the works, these guys are the definition of the "American original."
