Virginia Freeman Peterson, 89 - Travelers Rest

Virginia Freeman Peterson, 89, of Travelers Rest, wife of the late Rev. Lynell Peterson, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 25, 2014.

Born in Greenville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Jodie L. and Maude Lark Freeman. Mrs. Peterson was a homemaker and a member of the Upper Brummitts Creek Fundamental Brethren Church.

Surviving are four daughters, Priscilla Miller of Taylors, Norma Barnett (Gaylon), Naomi Hughes (Marcus) and Melinda Barnett (Michael) all of Travelers Rest; two sons, Carroll Peterson (Kate) and James Peterson (Tina) all of Travelers Rest; a son-in-law, Arnold Miller of Travelers Rest; a brother, Don Freeman (Pat) and a sister, Myra Berryhill (James) all of Easley, SC; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Doris P. Miller; a great great granddaughter; 2 sisters, Ruth Bishop & Edna Blackwell and 2 brothers, Claude Freeman and Robert Evans.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at The Howze Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow in the Travelers Rest Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM Friday evening at The Howze Mortuary.

The family will be at the home.
