$10K REI grant to help fund Swamp Rabbit Trail projects

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Greater Greenville Parks Foundation recently received a $10,000 grant from REI Greenville, part of a multi-year partnership between the outdoor retailer and the nonprofit group.

The check presentation was made on Saturday, Sept. 27, which was National Public Lands Day, at Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery, located near downtown Greenville along the GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail.

The stewardship grant helps to fund improvements along the trail, most notably the work of the Foundation's “Park Heroes,” volunteers who work throughout the year on various trail-related projects.

"REI's commitment to the Parks Foundation has made it possible to continue to connect with volunteers that work to help provide area residents and visitors with better, quality outdoor experiences," said Ty Houck, Greenville County Rec's greenways director.
