Greenville man dies in Old White Horse Road wreck

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Greenville County Coroner's Office said a 58-year-old man was killed in a wreck on Old White Horse Road early Sunday morning.

The single-vehicle wreck happened around 4 a.m. near Wynn Circle.

Greenville County Coroner B. Parks Evans identified the man as Michael Randolph Stanton of River Bend Road in Greenville.

Evans said Stanton was driving a 1989 Ford Taurus north on Old White Horse Road when he crossed the center line, left the roadway, and struck multiple trees.

Stanton, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead on the scene, Evans said.

The wreck is still being investigated by the Coroner's Office and the S.C. Highway Patrol.
