J. D. Allison, 86 - Marietta

J. D. Allison, 86, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Waynesville, NC, he was the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Velma Norris Allison. He retired from J.P. Stevens – Slater Plant after 50 years of service and was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Ruby Hart Allison; sons: Estel D. Allison and wife Sandy, Steven O. Allison, Ken Hart and wife Laurie, Gene Brown and wife Belen; daughter: Wanda Bailey; brother: Clarence Allison; sister: Marie Cass; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Donnie Clontz and 3 sisters: Edith Cartee, Estalee Parnell and Mildred Allison.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary.

Funeral service will be Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at The Howze Mortuary Chapel.

Burial will be at Mountain View Memorial Park.

The family will be at the home.
