Greenville County designates Veterans Day as official holiday
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Earlier this week, Greenville County councilmembers unanimously voted to make Veterans Day an officially-designated county holiday.
According to the passed resolution, councilmembers wished to recognize the “valor, courage, and sacrifices of over 35,000 Greenville County citizens who served in the Armed Forces of the United States.”
The resolution goes into effect immediately, and all county offices will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014.
