Clarice Bishop Moon, 92 - Travelers Rest

Clarice Bishop Moon, 92, of Travelers Rest, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014.

Born in Piedmont, SC, she was a daughter of the late H. Milton and Elizabeth Shirley Bishop. Mrs. Moon was a graduate of Piedmont High School where she played basketball. She was retired from Northwest Middle School and worked at Stone Manufacturing and McKleskey-Todd Pharmacy; she was a member of the Travelers Rest Garden Club, the Saints Alive Choir and the Red Hat Society; she was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Travelers Rest for 63 years and she was the pitcher on their softball team when she was in her late 50's and early 60's.

Surviving are four children, Glenda Collins (Dan), David Purcell (Sharon), Carole Pegler (Jim) and Anne Howard; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Charles Purcell; her second husband, Robert Moon; a son, Michael Moon; 3 sisters, Ruth Ashley, Margie King and Frances Trotter; a brother, Fred Bishop, her twin brother Maurice"Jim" Bishop.

Funeral services will be held at 1 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the First Baptist Church of Travelers Rest with burial to follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 PM Monday evening at The Howze Mortuary.

The family will be at the home.
