TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – The inaugural Christmas in July Car Show will take place at Trailblazer Park in Travelers Rest on Sat., July 29 from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Hosted by LEOSanta and the city of Travelers Rest, the free event will feature car displays, food trucks, live entertainment from Sweet Soul Band, and police and fire demonstrations, according to organizers.

The event also serves as a toy collection philanthropy, with those in attendance encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys to help jumpstart the annual two-day toy drive held in December at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

Formally organized as a nonprofit in 2020, LEOSanta works to provide toys and gifts to Upstate families in need during the holidays. In 2022, the group was able to support Upstate law enforcement agencies in providing more than 2,000 children and families with gifts during the Christmas holiday, according to board member Bart McEntire.

“This is LEOSanta’s first ever car show to bring awareness to the organization,” McEntire said, "and we continue to look for ways to expand the organization’s ability to touch more children and families in providing unexpected cheer during the Christmas holiday.”

Travelers Rest Police Chief Ben Ford said he was excited to host the event and hoped area residents "will help fill our SWAT trucks with gifts for those in-need right here in the Upstate."
