John J. Stasney, 78 - Travelers Rest

John J. Stasney, 78, of Travelers Rest, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital.

Born in New York City, NY, he was a son of the late John Henry and Eileen Kelly Stasney. He was self-employed, owning his own machine and fabrication shop, was a U.S. Navy veteran, and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years who he met in Scotland during his service in the Navy: Marie Linnie Stasney; son: John Patrick Stasney; daughter: Patricia Stasney; sister: Janie Hudgens: and six grandchildren.

Along with his parents he was predeceased by a son: Joe Stasney.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 1pm at The Howze Mortuary Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans Chapter 1 646 Maury Ave. Oxon Hill, DC 20745.
