Travelers Rest Police and Fire Foundation to host inaugural award ceremony Tuesday
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – The Travelers Rest Police and Fire Foundation will host its inaugural award ceremony on Tue., Oct. 24 at Green Valley Country Club from noon to 1:30 p.m.
The luncheon event, which is open to anyone to attend for a donation of their choice, will aim "to honor and appreciate the unsung heroes of our police and fire departments," a core objective of the newly-formed foundation.
"We are incredibly proud of the dedicated group of individuals who work tirelessly to keep our community safe," said Tom Bates, the foundation's president. "They are the heartbeat of Travelers Rest, and we want to show our unwavering support and gratitude for everything they do."
Founded in 2023, the Travelers Rest Police & Fire Foundation "seeks to find ways to support and influence police and first responders’ departments, as their services are critical to community safety, quality of life, and economic success."
Green Valley Country Club is located at 225 Green Valley Road. Luncheon donations will go to the support of the foundation, which is sponsoring the event.
