Saturday: Travelers Rest to host Holiday Hop, tree lighting

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – The city of Travelers Rest will host its annual Holiday Hop and Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Sat., Nov. 25 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., filling the downtown area with festive, family-friendly activities, including photos with Santa, free train rides on the trail, carolers, Christmas craft stations, snowball fights and more.
Schedule of events:
Santa: Santa will be making appearances throughout downtown Travelers Rest at the Holiday Hop, and you will be able to find him with the TR Santa Tracker app.
Stories with Mrs. Claus: At the Spring Park Inn (Hours: 3:00 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m. & 6:00 p.m.)
Snowball Fights: At the gazebo on Main Street from 3 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
Train Rides: Free train rides on the Swamp Rabbit Trail, loading behind the Monkey Wrench in the church parking lot from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Pages from the holiday book Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Sleigh will be placed in shop windows along Main Street. Read your way through the adventure following the clues on each page. Look for the word in the RED BOX on each page and type it in using the online form here or jot it down if you have the book adventure card here.
