LAKE HARTWELL, S.C. – The Travelers Rest Devildog Anglers opened the 2023-24 season on Lake Hartwell Saturday in a South Carolina B.A.S.S. Nation Youth Series event held at Green Pond Landing and Event Center in Anderson.
Following a day on the water, Devildog Anglers Luke Tilley and Cade Hartin took third place in the Jr. Bassmaster Division. Tilley and Hartin landed three legal fish with a total weight of 8.01 lbs., one of which tipped the scales at 3.09 lbs.
The event was a five-fish limit (three-fish limit for Juniors) tournament (combined, per boat) with a 12" minimum. All fish had to be live and released following weigh-in.

"Fish care is just as important human care," said Travis Dill, Devildog Angler head coach. "As boat captains, our number one job is to keep the anglers safe. Our number two job is to keep the fish safe."
The Devildog Anglers fielded six boats in the junior division and nine boats in the high school division, a total of 30 kids.
"[Angling] is another opportunity for kids to enjoy the great outdoors," Dill said, adding their mantra is: "Less Xbox, more tackle box."
The Devildog top high school division finish was the team of Whitt Hickey and Walker Rochester, who finished in 22nd with a total weight of 8.24 lbs.

The Devildog Angler team is open to all Greenville County Schools' students and Greenville County homeschoolers, online attendees, etc.
