Devildogs: This week's standout performers

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – Here are some of the Travelers Rest Devildogs' standout performers this past week/weekend in girls and boys high school athletics.

Devildog football's Parker Peace, Zee Grayson, Lucas Tankersly, Ace Evett and Drew McKibben were named All-Region.

Lady Devildogs Mahayla Law and Madeline Frazier represented Devildog Volleyball at the 2023 North South All Star Game. Law, a 2x All Region Player of the Year, recently signed with Erskine College. Frazier, who was a 2x All State and 2x Region Player of the Year, signed with Wofford College. Law and Frazier were joined by Lady Devildogs Emma Bayne and Madison Camp in being named 2023 All-Region.

The Devildog varsity wrestling squad represented Travelers Rest at the SCWOA scrimmage in River Bluff on Saturday, going 3-0 against Hartsville, AC Flora, and Dutch Fork. Freshman Jackson McLees went 3-0, pinning all three opponents in the first round. Freshman Nathan Hickey went 3-0 as well. Senior Ace Evett, junior Mitch Knepp, sophomores John Matt Stevens and Lucas Tankersly and freshman Peyton Burns went 2-0. (To see video highlights, click here.)

Lady Devildog tennis players Addy Bonesso, Charlottte Weikle, Bridget Suddeth, and Hannah DeMars were named 2023 All-Region.

Lady Devildog softball player Mayson Horton signed with USC-Union, continuing her sports career with the Bantams.

Lady Devildog's golf players Kamrynn League, Kaelyn Simpson and Mae McHugh were named All-Region.

Devildog boys cross country players Todd Harris, Connor Johnston, Peyton White, Philip Headley, Parker Sharp and Petr Sticha were named All-Region.

Devildog girls cross country players Preston White, Morgan Glaze, Zee Felder, Ava Ledford, Hanna Forrest, Addie Rae Guy and Laney Carson were named All-Region.
