Golden Regiment sweeps first, named Grand Champion
DUNCAN, S.C. – The Travelers Rest High School Golden Regiment Marching Band competed at the C. Phillip McIntyre Tournament of Bands at Byrnes High School on Saturday, sweeping all categories in Class 3A as well as finishing in 1st Place in Class 3A and Grand Champion in Classes 1A-3A.
Travelers Rest took first in all categories: percussion, color guard, high music, and best visual.
This is the second year in a row that the Golden Regiment won top honors – Grand Champion – at the event.
About 20 bands from across the state completed at the event.
