Update (06.23.23):
On Friday night, Greenville County Council voted 8-4 to approve a budget which raises taxes for the first time in nearly 30 years, narrowly avoiding a government shutdown.
The council voted to approve a $785 million budget that will raise county taxes by $28 for every $100,000 in value. Previously, an 11 mill increase was proposed.
GREENVILLE, S.C. – On Tuesday, Greenville County Council failed to pass its 2024 operating budget, one that included the county's first tax increase in about 30 years.
