TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – The following is a summary of Travelers Rest Police Dept. activity for the month of September.

Arrests:

The department reported an updated year-to-date total of 224 arrests, the majority of which were for narcotics violations (67), DUI (65), and larceny (52).

In September, there were a total of 19 arrests: four arrests for assault and battery, one for larceny, one for motor vehicle theft, 11 narcotics arrests and two DUI arrests.

September Citations:

In September, a total of 589 written traffic warnings (423) and traffic citations (166) were issued, up from a total of 247 (warnings 196, citations 50) in September of 2022.

The majority of citations were issued for "other moving violations" (69), speeding - over 10 and under 25 (36), and speeding - under 10 (26).

The majority of citations/warnings were issued on Main Street, followed by N. Poinsett Highway.

Other:

There were a total of 34 motor vehicle collisions in September, an increase of 54% from 2022. Thirteen of the collisions were reported to include injury(ies).

Officers logged 13 hours of foot patrols in the month of September.
